Frantoio olive trees ripen in the fall and are wind-pollinated and self-fertile. This means they do not need additional plants to produce olives. However, having additional olive trees nearby will increase your olive production.

Fruit production usually starts between 2-4 years. At maturity they can grow between 20-25 feet in height with a 25 foot wide canopy. When the tree is young it's best to water daily, especially as weather warms up. Green Frantoio olives are typically harvested in September with a black table variety closer to November depending on your climate.
