Chemlali Olive Tree

Chemlali: Chemlali is the most common cultivar in the central and southern regions of Tunisia. It is resistant to drought and very cold hardy. The oil has a mild, fruity flavor that stands alone or blends well with other varieties.

Moderate salt water tolerance
Fruits flower and ripen early comparatively
Olives are smaller than most
Oil sugggests the flavor of apple

Chemlali olive trees ripen in fall with small fruit (typically around 1 gram). The leaves elliptic-lanceolate in shape and medium sized.

This beautiful, fast growing tree is the only olive cultivar to survive in the Tunisian desert.
