Ascolana: (Italy) A low oil-producing cultivar with fruity character of tropical fruit and peaches. Used to make the Italian appetizer olive all’ascolana where the olive is filled with seasoned meat, battered and fried.

Ascolana olive trees typically ripen in November with plump green fruit. The leaves are regular, elliptical, of medium size and an intense green color.

Fruit production usually starts between 2-4 years. At maturity they can grow between 20-30 feet in height, but can be kept around 20 feet with liberal pruning.
